life-fi:

Honestly, this is pretty cool! I was a big fan of the Nike+ chip they had for shoes and this just takes it to the next level. The ability to track my daily movements and measure it in a system that allows you to see your progression is pretty wild but will the fuelband’s “it factor” wear out?
The tech is cool, but what it’s doing to the human mind is remarkable in itself. People bite into these products because they want to feel like they are benefiting their body, keeping track is the tech, but this product is also producing the placebo effect. Many consumers are going to put on this product and feel motivated to go that extra mile just because of a gadget…but couldn’t you do that before without the fuel band? When you know something is keeping track and you can see how you progress your mind wants to beat that, its just the nature of competitiveness and thats’s why I like this product. Its going to get people moving, active, and health conscious. No longer do you need a buddy to keep you motivated when its all on your wrist (and smart phone).
The only thing I have to nitpick about it is that its not full on water proof. It covers just about every sport and activity you can think of, except swimming. And swimming is one of those exercises that involves the full body movements and workouts, but someone is yet to invent a way to track the progression of it. If it wasn’t for that USB port and the oxygen kinetics then it probably would be fully water proof, but I digress. At least it has a watch!

I’ve seriously wanted a Nike Fuel Band ever since it came out. Super expensive, might be worth it. All I know is that it’s super cool
